April 2008 - south east Sweden
by Matthias Burget
As an Austrian hardcore - fisherman you don’t have the well known “winterhole”. The up to 8 weeks of the short year, you cannot enjoy the loved passion. In Austria there are some rivers the great hucho/ taimen live in and the right time to catch them is from November to February. So I have to be lucky, but if you recognise you need some new experience you have to take a short trip with your friends. So I do. We just looked for a trip to Sweden, exactly the south-east part, nearby “Malmö”, but on the east coast
We went in the last week of March and had a great time. We just need worm cloth...
...to fish the coast. We fished 3 days for nice shiny sea trout's an 3 days the Lagunas and smaller bays for pike.
Temperatures from 12° below zero to warm and comfortable 10 degree.
After this nice trip we named 9 great sea trout's and 6 very nice pike-fights our.
